From 1-5 South (North of Portland): Follow I-5 South to Exit 299A, use right lane to stay right onto SW Hood Ave. and then merge onto OR-43 (Macadam Ave). Continue on OR-43 6 miles and turn left onto Ladd St. and then right onto Furnace Street. Arrive at George Rogers Park, 611 S. State Street, Lake Oswego.
From 1-5 North (South of Tigard): I-5 North to Exit 292B for Kruse Way toward 72ns Ave. Use left 2 lanes to turn left on to Kruse Way for 1.3 miles. Use left 2 lanes to turn left onto Boones Ferry Rd. for .7 miles. Slight right onto Country Club Rd. and slight right to stay on Country Club Rd. for 1.7 miles before it becomes A Avenue. Use right 2 lanes to right onto N. State Street for ½ mile and left onto Ladd St. and right onto Furnace Street. Arrive at George Rogers Park, 611 S. State Street, Lake Oswego.
$15 registration/race fee per paddler. $10 additional fee for non-Paddle Sports, ACA/USACK
PNWORCA winter series has opted to go with a permanent canoe number system. All paddlers will be issued a pair of race numbers. Each paddler is asked to bring an extra $5 for these numbers if you have NOT already purchased them. You will leave these numbers on your canoe and use the number for every PNW ORCA winter series race you enter. These numbers will not harm your vessel when taken off.
Distance: Approx. 6.2 miles (10km), out and back from George Rogers Park. One loop starting down river to Elk Rock, up river and around Hog Island and finish down river to start/finish line. See racecourse below)
9:00am – Registration opens
10:30am – Paddlers’ Meeting
11:00am – Race Starts
12:30pm – Plate Lunch and Awards
Race Course: The course starts and finishes at George Rogers Park in Lake Oswego. Starts down river for 1.75 miles to Elk Rock, turns and heads up river for 3 miles, around Hog Island. Finishes with 1.4 miles down river back to start/finish line.
You must have to participate:
- Current Paddle Sports/ACA/USACK membership number or pay additional $10 event insurance
- $15 entry fee per person
- Signed PNWORCA & PaddleSports/ACA/USACK waivers
- PFD/Life jacket
